Audiences are transported into another world when RYN (RYN.) takes the stage. RYN is a singer/songwriter with one major goal: taking the audience away from their problems and into her world. Her newest album, “SNAPSHOTS”, brings imagery and storytelling together to make listeners feel less alone.RYN has been performing in DFW since 2019, always aiming to inspire others to try whatever they set their minds to. Once, during a show in Downtown Mansfield, a young girl came up to her and said that she’d seen RYN performing several years prior, and had started taking guitar lessons to try and follow in her footsteps. That drive to inspire has only grown alongside her career.Her songwriting varies greatly, covering hardships, love, and even taking inspiration from popular media. Her song “33” may be written about a video game, but it is also simply a song about a fear of dying – showing her ability to make any topic more relatable.The line between genres doesn’t hold RYN back, either. Some of her songs have a more Alec Benjamin feel, with pure storytelling elements and a more acoustic, stripped back feel. Other songs have been described to have more of a Lady Gaga feel to them, with varying dynamics and raw emotion threaded into each word. She isn’t worried about fitting into a box – she’s more curious about seeing how far she can stretch outside of it.With just a guitar and her vocals, RYN continues to inspire the DFW community in her own way. She plays classical style guitar, which is rare for women in Texas to do – she finds a way to mix fingerstyle with pop music, weaving it into her songs to bring a unique charm to each one. After falling in love with the song “Why Georgia” by John Mayer as a teenager, she decided to study fingerstyle guitar in college, even turning popular video game music into classical-style covers. With over ten years of experience on her instrument, she still aims to learn more and push herself to find new heights.After headlining her own concerts at the age of fifteen, that was only the beginning of RYN’s achievements as an artist. She has performed at Texas LIVE multiple times, opened for acts at The LOT Downtown and Levitt Pavilion, and has even performed at the State Fair of Texas over the last three years.Her artistry is matched by her dedication to the craft. She studied music theory for two years at Tarrant County College, then spent the next two years learning how to record, mix, and produce music at the University of Texas at Arlington. She held multiple leadership roles across both schools, including running the UTA Student Record Label during her final semester. She has been credited as bringing community to the music department, and always being a friendly source of information wherever she can.
